Still here...

Yes, we're still here! Just been busy as I'm sure you all have been :). A couple of quick things I wanted to mention:

*Congrats to everyone who decided to boycott McDonalds. Your efforts were a success!! McDonalds announced today that they would remain neutral, as they pulled their support from the NGLCC. Go here for more information

*Yard signs should be coming out, if they haven't already. Put them up proudly! You will shortly be seeing these around town as well. Just remember: the opposition have organized groups to be on the look out for our signs. They will most likely be stealing as many as they can get their hands on. The Coalition has recommended pulling your signs in every evening, but I recommend hanging them above your garage. The sign posts are messy and the sign itself is very difficult to get on and off.

*The coalition is working hard to do as much as possible in the next 3 weeks prior to election time. (Go here to view all of the coalitions commercials.) However they are still in need of help. They are still excepting donations, and what better way is there to help donate and show your support of this proposition, than by buying a Protecting Families Now t-shirt?!

Keep up your hard work! It is paying off!

Bride and Groom no more

I just received this email from AFA informing me that Bride and Groom are no longer accepted on marriage licenses. They are now known as 'Party A' and 'Party B'...read on to see what the entire email says.....

"According to a WorldNetDaily article, "Brides" and "grooms" are no longer allowed to marry in the State of California.
That privilege is only extended to individuals who allow themselves to be called "Party A" and "Party B" on marriage licenses.

Pastor Doug Bird of Abundant Life Fellowship in Roseville, Calif., was alarmed to find the state now rejects the traditional terms after he officiated his first marriage ceremony last week following the California Supreme Court decision to overturn Proposition 22.

The couple had written the words "bride" and "groom" next to "Party A" and "Party B" because they wanted to be legally recognized as husband and wife.

However, the Placer County marriage license was denied.

"I received back the license and a letter from the Placer County Clerk/Recorder stating that the license 'does not comply with California State registration laws,'" Bird said in a statement from the Pacific Justice Institute.

It was an "unacceptable alteration," the County Recorder's Office claimed the State Office of Vital Records determined.

"What's next?" Bird wrote in a Sept. 4 letter. "Will the State of California force [ministers] to use the terms "Party A" and "Party B" in the ceremony itself?"

In a 4-3 decision, California's high court declared that legal definitions of marriage as a union between a man and a woman were unconstitutional. Since the ruling, the generic designations have been added to legal documents.

Pacific Justice Institute President Brad Dacus said voters must change the state constitution by voting on the marriage amendment in November if they wish to preserve the traditional meaning of marriage.

"Unless Proposition 8 is passed, heterosexual couples will be forced to wed out of the state if they wish to be officially identified as bride and groom or husband and wife." He said in a statement. "This is a major slap in the face for traditional marriage."

An interesting site to check out if you get a chance...(go here) It really breaks down what we are fighting for, and gives you LOTS of good resources on the subject. Definitely worth your time to go and look around.

Oh, and the shirts head to the 'printers' today, so contact us if you're interested! (I'll post a picture of them when we get them back.)

Thanks.

PG&E petition

I just recieved this in an email today: A petition to PG&E asking them to withdrawl their monetary support against prop 8. Here is what the petition says:

"As a California resident, I am signing this Citizen Petition opposing Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s (PG&E) open advocacy of homosexual marriage and opposition of Prop. 8. As a utility that is regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission and is commissioned to serve all Californians within its jurisdiction, PG&E should not take sides in such hotly contested cultural and political debates. PG&E should withdraw its $250,000 contribution to defeat Prop. 8 and terminate any other advocacy efforts in opposition to the marriage amendment. Finally, the state Utilities Commission should implement new regulations to prevent public utilities like PG&E from abusing the public’s trust by taking sides in cultural and political debates."

Preliminary Design

The front of the shirt

The back

These are the preliminary designs for the t-shirts we mentioned in our first post. We are still trying to figure out the best way to make a quality print for the least amount of money. Hopefully we'll have that all squared away by the end of the weekend. I'd love to hear any feed back that you may have on the design of the shirt. We are also thinking about creating one for kids, but with a much simpler design. Will post that as soon as we have it.

Also, Hallmark has decided to promote gay marriages by producing cards like this one:

You can send an email to Hallmark telling them you oppose their decision by clicking on the link to One Million Moms on the side bar.

Thank you Honda!

'Alabama Fertility Specialists (AFS) has begun a campaign to bring Honda of Alabama to its knees because Honda will not cover artificial insemination for a lesbian in it’s insurance.

Honda advised their insurance carrier to "exclude domestic partners (same-sex partners) from ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) benefits including diagnostic services related to fertility/infertility..." If this doesn't work, then count on AFS to sue.

Alabama Fertility Specialists alerted the media, their supporters and gay groups about Honda’s actions and called on supporters and gays to bombard Honda with phone calls and letters.' (taken from AFA alert)

PLEASE email Honda and let them know that you appreciate their actions!

Take Action!

Courageous Family Advocates Needed!

Here is a quote sent to me in a recent email from AFA (American Family Association) describing what will happen if Prop 8 fails. Now is certainly the time to speak up and voice our thoughts on something that could change life as we know it!

" Don’t be fooled by what you’re hearing from the liberal media. California law requires 'comprehensive health education 'in public schools beginning in kindergarten. That includes teaching the 'responsibilities of marriage.' This legal mandate allows advocates of homosexual marriage to mold the minds of young children. Worse still, California law requires that the 'community' be permitted to actively participate 'in the planning, implementation, and evaluation' of health education. If Prop 8 fails, homosexual activists will insist children be taught that homosexual marriage is honorable and sacred.

Homosexual marriage is no longer an issue for debate. It is a reality - a runaway freight train that must be derailed NOW. "

Also, if you haven't already heard, a few American powerhouse companies have decided to support the homosexual agenda. They include PG&E and MCDONALDS. AFA is asking supporters of Traditional families everywhere to contact PG&E by phone or email explaining to them how they (you) think it is wrong to raise gas prices in order to donate $250,000.00 to defeat Prop 8. (If you are interested in the full email, please let me know and I will send it to you.) AFA is also asking for help boycotting McDonalds. This American family restaurant has decided to promote the gay agenda and refuses to remain neutral. McDonalds spokesman Bill Whitman went even further stating that those who oppose same sex marriages are motivated by hate, and that hatred has no place in our culture. For those of you who feel like us - that this is strictly a moral issue akin to lying or stealing - please use the link below to voice your opinion to McDonalds and sign the boycot petition. We feel buisnesses should remain neutral on moral issues.

Protect Families Now

We are participants of a Protecting Marriage Coalition, concerned about the status of families. This is a blog about the causes we feel worthwhile pertaining to families.

The Protect Marriage Coalition is a group of families, community and religious leaders, and other individuals who have joined together to support Prop 8. California voters are faced with the decision to support or reject prop 8 this November.

As taken from Protectmarriage.com, "Proposition 8 is simple and straightforward. It contains the same 14 words that were previously approved in 2000 by over 61% of California voters: 'Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.' ". This proposition will add these simple words to the state constitution to protect marriage.

We are in the process of designing shirts to sell with the profit going to the coalition in support of traditional marriages.

Please check back soon for the design and information on how to order your own "Protect Families Now" t-shirt.
